His own Point system

Rey made a point system to keep track of his papa's coloring homework. Well, they spend time together learning how to color the pictures of an Ultraman book. Rey is the teacher and papa is the student. This is how Rey award papa for his good work.

A Star + a circle + a tick = very good

1 star = keep up the good work

Rey drew something for me. A sea and a ship with wheels so it can run on the beach too. And since he likes pizzas, he created a pizza conveyer belt to deliver the pizzas to the passengers. Plus a button to stop the belt when stomachs are filled.

Autumn leaves

Tis the best time now for viewing autumn leaves so I took Rey to Kitano Tenmangu Shrine for a walk. This shrine enshrines Michizane Sugawara , who becauseof his great learning during his lifetime is worshipped as the patron of learning.

I got a free ticket enter the area for viewing autumn leaves, plus Japanese sweets and tea. Rey was busy picking up the autumn leaves and being my model for the day.

面包超人Anpanman

Rey's grandparents bought him an Anpanman bread 面包超人. He enjoys reading stories about the bread hero and have a collection of dvds too.
Basically the story plot is about the same. Anpanman will fly above a forest or mountain in search of lost animals or children who are lost and hungry. He finds one who will be crying, and encourage the victim to eat his face in order to become strong and genki again. But everytime a victim takes a bite of his face, Anpanman turns weak. This is the chance for Baikinman to attack Anpanman while the now genki victim will get help from the bread factory. Jamu-ojisan and firends will then come with Anpanman's new face and with his replenished energy, he gives Baikinman a punch so powerful he flies into outer space.

A long-time Japanese friend came to visit. Rey was quite excited upon seeing 'Michiko-onesan'. But his weird way of expressing his excitement by stepping on the poor girl's shoes repeatedly and misbehaving at restaurants didn't quite impress me.

Rey laughed till he teared, over a silly joke about his papa deflating like a balloon, shooting in all directions and flying out through the window, IF he poked his tummy with a pencil. (bad actually, to laugh at the expense of others.)

2.5 hours to eat

Rey has a problem. Eating problem. He eats toooooo slo--w---l----eeee. I have to stop myself from pulling my hair out, at least twice each day, excluding his lunch time in school. I always end up screaming' "eat eat eat EAT FASTER!!". I bet my mild-mannered Japanese neighbours can hear that every meal times. To them, Mum's roar = meal time. It doesn't help when the cold weather cools the food much too fast. Not that my cooking is bad, but Rey can play with his dinosaur, microwave wraps, tear tissue paper, sit on the sofa, ask me when he can have his snacks (to which I'd answer in a roaring tone "you haven't finished and yet you want to blablablabla") It goes on in circles. I have to tell myself, no spoon feeding. I'm seeing when he can finish his food, without screaming by blogging now. He has already broken his eating record, 2. 5 hours!

I found something about myself. When I'm angry, I tend to repeat my sentences 4 times. This is how I found out.

I: Can you eat faster, can you eat faster, can you eat faster, CAN YOU EAT FASTER!!!!!!?! (in a crescendo)
Rey: ok, ok, ok OK!
I: whaahahahhahaa

all about economics

Hi! Forgive me for the lack of update. I have been cramping my head with the latest economics news be it Asia, US or European. Why? because I've got a new tuition assignment and my business english student wants to talk about the economy and recession! arghh! Why so on? Now, after a few days of studying the news, I'm proud to say that I'm quite informative in these areas.

While the world is going down with this financial crisis, Rey is down with stomach flu.

Just 30 minutes before his friends arrived for our monthly gathering, Rey vomitted and I had to clean the mess, bathed him and prepare the food. Friends arrived, ate and played while Rey slept throughout.

After missing 2 meals, Rey keeps asking for food and water, a sign that he is recovering.

Gong Li is a Singaporean now

What is all the criticism in the news about? We gain a big STAR in our country \**/ so we should be proud, right? Anyway, her husband is a Singaporean. But don't expect her in your hawker center or ntuc, it's like reaching out for a star in the sky.

Am I becoming a 'sotong'?

I made some terrible silly mistakes for the past 2 days.
Day 1: I did something terrible on Rey's birthday yesterday. I sent Rey off to the school bus-stop in his 'Anchanman' pyjama pants and only realised the mistake when another mum told me about it. It was too late to change before the school bus comes so Rey boarded the school bus in his pyjama bottoms. He was quite cool about it, in fact, he thought it was funny! He flashed me a wide grin as the bus departed, which was quite comforting.

Day 2: It was Rey's kindy art exhibition today. Parents were supposed to bring their own room slippers but I forgot mine. Ok, no big deal. I could do with socks anyway. And just when I took off my sneakers, the colours of my socks caught my eyes, 1 beige and 1 red!! Arghh!! My room socks! SO in the end, I went round the school barefooted. sigh...erm, let me explain why I have 2 different socks on each foot in the 1st place. Well, my feet were so cold last night that I just grabbed some socks from the drawer to put on in the middle of the night. I was too lazy to choose the right pair...

Went for Yamaha lesson later.
