I: Uncle, do you know where Corporation Primary School is?

taxi driver: (nod, signalling me to sit in)

I: (feeling very uncomfortable with the smoke) Wha, uncle you smoke in the taxi ah?! SO smelly! Can you wind down the window? I don't want the school to think that I smoke you know.

T: okay, okay. Just now the passenger smoke in my car lah.

I: (yah, As if I will believe you) No wonder the car smells....

T: I fetched 2 people to Corporation Primary before. Very near.

I: Ok, great. I don't want to be late...Err.. Uncle! Why you go this direction? (forget about using proper grammar on uncle)

T: Not here meh?

I: No lah! This is near my house already, how can I not know? Aiyoh, you're driving to Lakeside Primary, not Corporation Primary. You know, near Singapore Boys' Home? This is Corporation Road but not Corporation Primary!

T: ok , ok, I know. The other side, lah

(Heading in the right direction)

I: So uncle, no problem right?

T: Sure Sure..

And finally I reached. Phew

I: Thank you uncle!

What a ride. How aunty I had sounded...

Time for facial treatment for the kids. I'd rather say it's a tactic to keep them silent for at least 10 minutes.

meeting with my university professor

Almost 11 years have passed but my NUS professor somehow got my contact from a friend. He is currently teaching in Kyushu University and recently came to Singapore. The two of us met for dinner and had a wonderful time talking about university days. Guo sensei mentioned about our batch (yes, Lousia you are included too!) was the most interesting, chatty and cleverest batch and the whole department quietened down once we graduated. I miss old school days studying Japanese. Best days of my school life.

Readers Theatre

Our group is busy preparing for next week's Readers Theatre performance.

Title is "Listen buddy'. We had so much fun and laughter making the script holders.
