Japanese Summer Festival

The Japanese mothers just love Hula dance.

The JETAA stall

The fathers demostrated some of their football skills with the OLE song.

The children's taiko club. I wish I can squeeze in some time for Rey for this club.

It was like I have teleported to Japan. I guess most of the Japanese in Singapore has gathered at this Changi Japanese School last Saturday. There were scores of them all over the place. You see girls dolled up in their yukatas almost anywhere you go. Families rested on their picnic sheets watching performance on stage; fathers queueing up for Asahi beer; mothers buying curry rice and sushi for their children's dinner; and youngster scrambling for Meiji ice cream.
Rey played games at the Singapore JETAA booth while I helped tend the stall with some other volunteers.

Born in the year of ...

We were having this conversation in the car...

Aunt: There are 3 'goats' in our family. Rey, Cheltton and I!
Rey: Yah, I'm born in the year of goat. Mum, which year are you born in?
I: Rabbit
Rey: Oh no, how can that be? You're too fierce to be a rabbit. I think you should be
born in the year of TIGER.
I: Yah, right, but WHO is the one who changed me from a tame rabbit into a tiger!?
Rey: Me *grin*

---------------------------------
Rey: Mum, do you know you'll still look ugly even with make-up when you don't smile?

Have I forgotten how to smile already? sigh...

The Three Musketeers

We were the three musketeers back from Fairfield school days. Part of our childhood was spent hanging out together until we went to live in different parts of the world. This was a rare occasion where the three of us met up chatted till our hearts content.
