the lamest excuse

Rey: Mum, I think I'm allergic to studying.
I: That's the worst excuse I've ever heard. Think of better ones.

Noh Min Woo craze

I've been studying and studying and I thought I deserve a break from studying just for today. So I indulge myself in my latest idol's music, the whole day.

R: Isn't it boring when you keep listening to the same song over and over again?
I: Hey, it's No Min Woo, my idol's song. It's never boring to me. (watching my youtube video)
R: Aren't you studying for your school?
I: (guilt)haha.. you sound like my mother.
R: Oh come on, stop it.

air ticket

I bought tickets to Japan already. Will be there from 18th December to Jan 4th. Rey is going to miss his first day of school next year and I feel so bad about it. No choice, no more tickets for other days left. Anyway, really looking forward to relaxing and spending Xmas in Japan, it's going to be cold..brrr.

my school assignment

I never knew that making videos for my blog will come in useful for my school project! This is a Scenario Based Inquiry video that I have produced for my Science assignment. It involves the concept of rate of evaporation.

Nana and Rey did great in their acting!

still blur

I guess I'm still quite a blur person. I had to bring 2 laptops to school today because 1 just 'blacked out' on me yesterday while I was using it.
(At the computer lab)
I: Excuse me, can you please help me check my laptop. It blacked out on me yesterday when I was still using it.
IT person: Is it because there is no battery?
I: Cannot be (how can i be so stupid or blur by the way?). The battery was half full.
(IT person plugged in the electricity... The laptop revived!)
I: ....!!! Oh! How can it be? So there is nothing wrong with my laptop, that's good news!

I guess the IT person was trying to control his laughter. And did I mention that when the laptop revived, my new Korean rock, singer, composer, actor idol No Min Woo's MTV on youtube resumed playing (loudly) in front of the IT people?

A friend's wedding

I think I aged alot since I entered NIE. The effect of SK2 that I've been faithfully using for more than 6 years has all gone to waste...

Rey waiting at the lobby

Another junior college friend of mine got married and here we find ourselves chatting away with old classmates, just the 3 of us there. (What happened to the rest?)

updates

The classroom where we get to act as teachers and little children.

A puppet theatre

This is our PEL room for teaching reading and writing English. There are much nicer features of this rooms with decorative corners but alas, my camera ran out of battery. so this is what I can show you guys.

Rey is happier nowadays because his mama has no time to give him homework. Mama has got lots of homework to do herself.
NIE is driving us crazy with tons of test, assignments and presentations. Thank god I'm still staying afloat, not drowning (yet). I guess this is why our students get their stressful studying life, cause the teachers 'repay' by torturing their students when their turn comes.

Rey singing!

I love this! He sang this in choir. It made me laugh so much. His exaggeration of emotional + constipated singing.

Japanese Summer Festival

The Japanese mothers just love Hula dance.

The JETAA stall

The fathers demostrated some of their football skills with the OLE song.

The children's taiko club. I wish I can squeeze in some time for Rey for this club.

It was like I have teleported to Japan. I guess most of the Japanese in Singapore has gathered at this Changi Japanese School last Saturday. There were scores of them all over the place. You see girls dolled up in their yukatas almost anywhere you go. Families rested on their picnic sheets watching performance on stage; fathers queueing up for Asahi beer; mothers buying curry rice and sushi for their children's dinner; and youngster scrambling for Meiji ice cream.
Rey played games at the Singapore JETAA booth while I helped tend the stall with some other volunteers.

Born in the year of ...

We were having this conversation in the car...

Aunt: There are 3 'goats' in our family. Rey, Cheltton and I!
Rey: Yah, I'm born in the year of goat. Mum, which year are you born in?
I: Rabbit
Rey: Oh no, how can that be? You're too fierce to be a rabbit. I think you should be
born in the year of TIGER.
I: Yah, right, but WHO is the one who changed me from a tame rabbit into a tiger!?
Rey: Me *grin*

---------------------------------
Rey: Mum, do you know you'll still look ugly even with make-up when you don't smile?

Have I forgotten how to smile already? sigh...

The Three Musketeers

We were the three musketeers back from Fairfield school days. Part of our childhood was spent hanging out together until we went to live in different parts of the world. This was a rare occasion where the three of us met up chatted till our hearts content.

We went to watch the International Band Competition at the Esplanade. It lasted 6 hours. We watched for 4 hours plus and gave the award presentation a miss.

Tanks and more tanks

At a friend's classmate's party in the morning.

A busy weekend with Rey even though I've got a test on Monday.

Cultural Festival

Most teachers wore costumes to school this day in celebration of Racial Harmony Day. I didn't as I had to attend NIE briefing after this.

Ballet Under the Stars

This is taken from Rey's 'Super Mario Castle'

You can see the 'Super Mario castle' in the background.

Doreen invited me to watch 'Ballet Under the Stars' last Saturday.
Rey told me he is more interested in hip-hop...

Choir

Since Rey has decided for himself to join his school choir, I brought him to this choral presentation at Singapore Conference Hall. The best performance was given by the HongKong's Children Choir.

The color for today is ...

Green!
Every Wednesday, the teachers, for no particular reason, will decide on 1 colour to wear. So there you go, different shades of green.
Next week colour? Blue.

nice weekend

Rey and Lousia's daughters

I thoroughly enjoyed my last weekend. Met up with long-time friends, went up the Esplanade roof terrace, listened to good jazz and rock music, food and we saw fireworks! Ended the day with Rey with this Merlion shot.
